…after being closed for 20 years, with a brand-new f&B offering and a stunning beer garden.

ECHO worked with The Black Friar on a launch campaign, providing media relations, social media management, event management, marketing and influencer engagement.

Objective

Built in 1888, The Black Friar reopened in a blaze of glory…

…in 2021 following a £1.4m restoration by developer Salboy, which included a new modern glass restaurant, private dining room and beer garden. Located on Trinity Way just outside the city centre, PR was key driving awareness of the pub reopening and its new, much-improved offer.

ECHO worked with The Black Friar on a pre-launch, launch and post launch campaign, which saw the pub fully booked prior to opening.

Results

Favourite PR moment: working with Manchester’s Finest on their first look piece, which saw bookings go through the roof.

Switched-on, smart PR that makes more noise.
